Specialty about Indian Sweets

A lot is talked about India’s heritage and culture; the market is flooded with books on the same not to mention availability of abundance of information online. And there is always a mention of Indian sweets. Be it any festival like Diwali, Durga Puja, Ganesh Puja, Lakhsmi Puja, and more, it is sweets principally offered to the deity. Variety, different sizes, and myriad colors, and great taste identify Indian sweets. Flavors of each variety are distinct.

Indian sweets are generally prepared in two varieties, one flour based and the other milk based. Few varieties of milk based Indian sweets worth mentioning are chhena murki, burfi, milk cake, gulab jamun, gulukand burfi, kesar peda, kala jamun, kalakand, kheer kadam, khoya gilori, khoya kesar, shahi chocolate, til buggha, etc. Flour based Indian sweets include atta laddoo, gondh laddoo, balu shahi, gujia, malpua, banarasi laddoo, shahi laddoo, and the list the mouthwatering varieties goes on.
